One to Love this week is the Arctic Pole, a wine chiller, from the Traveling Vineyard. If you know anything about me or have hung out with me for even just a few minutes (LOL!) you know that I love wine. I’m not a sommelier by any means but over the years, and many trips to Napa, and all our travels throughout the United States, I’ve learned to like different wines. I love going to wine tastings whenever we travel and trying new varieties. No two wines are ever the same, so it’s always an adventure.
I like everything from white to red, dry to sweet. Pairing wines with food is something I think I’ve become pretty good at that. I like drinking wine any time of year, but during these warm and dry Indian Summer days that we continue to have here in Northern Wyoming, I don’t like it when my wine gets warm. Yuck! That’s why, One to Love this week is the Arctic Pole, a wine chiller.
My friend, Dawn Gilman is a Wine Guide with The Traveling Vineyard and recently she shared this fabulous gadget, and a bottle of wine called Smirk, (love the name) with me!
The Traveling Vineyard
First, if you aren’t familiar with the Traveling Vineyard, they are a Direct Sales Company that specializes in wine. They source their grapes from around the world, so they offer a huge variety of wines from Chardonnay to Malbec, and from Gewurztraminer to Merlot and EVERYTHING in between. They also give their wines super fun names, like the Smirk I mentioned before to Screaming Goat, along with Never Have I Ever, and Peekaboo. Super cute names.

The Smirk Muscat is semi-sweet white wine. Smirk has earthy notes complimented by juicy mandarin orange and lime. It is refreshing any time of year; naturally sweet, but not cloying or syrupy, and it is an easy drinking white table wine with some structural acidity. Plus, it’s a super versatile wine that works well with almost anything – chicken, curry, pancakes, salads and so much more! I love it!
